Pupils at Great Coates Primary School embody the school’s motto of ‘success and
happiness for all’. They are enthusiastic about learning and display a thirst for knowledge.
The school has exceptionally high expectations for pupils’ achievement and behaviour.
Pupils achieve extremely high outcomes across all areas and at the end of key stage 2.
This includes pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and
disadvantaged pupils who make excellent progress in all aspects of their education here.
Pupils’ behaviour across the school is exemplary. They are polite and
courteous to each other, the adults in the building and visitors to the school.

Barclays Coding Workshop Leaders
We were lucky enough to spend the day with Key stage 2 at Great Coates Academy, The engagement from the students and teachers was some of the best we’ve seen and the questions and curiosity was fantastic.

Just to let you know that when I met with Zowie today, she commented on how lovely and engaging the year 3/4 children had been when she delivered the workshops recently. She also said that it was lovely to see all of the staff being engaging too and supporting the workshops.
Learn SEND hub audit Feb 24
The school is in the lowest quintile for deprivation but highest quintile for outcomes, which demonstrates that the children are performing at significantly higher than the national average.
The school has an aspirational curriculum for all pupils.
On the school tour, all pupils were engaged and included.
Bespoke curriculums and timetables are in place for at least one pupil with high communication and interaction needs. This is having a very positive impact on his behaviour.
Teachers have had extensive SEND CPD delivered both at school and Trust level.
Relevant training for particular interventions is given to the relevant people, so that quality is enhanced.
Provision map comprehensive with all interventions listed.
Progress is rigorously measured.
School are committed to improving the outcomes of their pupils with SEND and offer research-based interventions to support progress.
