Meeting to Improve Willows Park

  • June 8, 2026

Today, our school council met with Evie, Finn and Luke from North East Lincolnshire Council to discuss Willows Park. The council wanted to get the views of the pupils on what they want the park to look like as the council has been granted funding to update play facilities.
The children told the council what they think is wrong with the park at the moment. They feel unsafe sometimes, that there is not a lot to do and that it is not well maintained with litter and broken facilities. The children spoke about what they would really like to see in the park which included a large climbing frame, a skateboard area, new zipline and swings.
The school has run a competition to design a new park and the councillors decided on two winners for the competition; Alayah in Year 6 and Isobelle in Year 3.
The councillors really listened to the views of the pupils and said that our pupils were brilliant to work with. They said it was a pleasure to speak to them as they had mature, thoughtful ideas which were inclusive of everyone. They said the pupils concentrated all the way through the meeting which went on for over an hour and they will definitely take their veiws into consideration.
